STEAM PEI’s World Ocean Day Event is a free, community-based environmental education initiative designed for youth (K–12), their families, and the community in Charlottetown. Held in celebration of World Ocean Day 2026 (June 8th), the event will provide hands-on STEAM learning experiences focused on ocean health, water protection, environmental sustainability, and climate awareness.
Participants will explore ocean biodiversity, learn about the impacts of pollution, and oil spills on waterways, participate in water quality testing activities, engineer buoyant devices, learn about acid rain, and create ocean-themed arts and crafts. The event promotes environmental stewardship through interactive and collaborative activities that are accessible, engaging, and educational for all ages.
Get ready for an exciting day of discovery and dive into hands-on experiments, creative challenges, and interactive activities that bring science, technology, engineering, art, and math to life, all while exploring how you can help protect the ocean. From building and testing eco-friendly solutions to tackle real-world environmental challenges, every activity is designed to spark curiosity and inspire action. STEAM PEI’s World Ocean Day Event is taking place on Saturday June 13th 2026 from 1 PM to 3:30 PM at STEAM PEI’s location (149 Mount Edward Road, Suite 102, Charlottetown, PE C1A 5T1).
