This STEAM program invites children and youth ages 5–17 to explore Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math through hands-on learning. Each week features a different activity which incorporates elements of STEAM.
Week 2: Math Magformers
Build, stack, and create as we explore geometry and engineering through play! Using magnet tiles, students will discover shapes, patterns, and structures—from basic concepts to more advanced ideas—while learning how math shows up in everyday life.
Week 3: Potions & Explosions
Like to watch things bubble, explode, and ooze? This week is for those of you who like to measure, mix, and get messy!
Week 4: Stormy Structures
Learn about hurricane force winds and how engineering can adapt to different climates! We'll challenge you to build your own hurricane proof structure and then put it to the test! Will your house survive the fight?
Week 5: Scrap to Art
Fabric waste is a huge contributor to today's landfills and we're going to show you some cool ways you can repurpose those old, unwanted fabrics into something new and beautiful! Create your own artwork using fabric scraps and help give them a new life.
Week 6: Habitat Mixup!
Animals have evolved and adapted to the changing world and climates. In this habitat mix-up we'll challenge you to create a new beak to survive in the wild new world - will your animal live through snowstorms, plant extinctions, and more? We'll put your inventions to the test in the interactive STEAM experiment.
