STEAM PEI’s World Sustainability Day Event is a free, community-based environmental education initiative designed for youth (K–12), their families, and the community in Charlottetown. Held in celebration of World Sustainability Day 2026 (October 26th), the event will provide hands-on STEAM learning experiences focused on environmental sustainability, climate awareness, upcycling, and community wellbeing.
Participants will explore key pillars of sustainability, learn about the impacts of pollution, and depleting resources, participate in upcycling activities, everyday sustainable action, learn about environmental protection, and create themed arts and crafts. The event promotes environmental stewardship through interactive and collaborative activities that are accessible, engaging, and educational for all ages.
Get ready for an exciting day of discovery and dive into hands-on experiments, creative challenges, and interactive activities that bring science, technology, engineering, art, and math to life, all while exploring ways for a more sustainable future. From building and testing eco-friendly solutions to tackle real-world environmental challenges, every activity is designed to spark curiosity and inspire action. STEAM PEI’s World Sustainable Day Event is taking place on Saturday October 24th 2026 from 1 PM to 3:30 PM at STEAM PEI’s location (149 Mount Edward Road, Suite 102, Charlottetown, PE C1A 5T1).
