Female
What could you create, research, or discover to help build a cleaner future? Join us for an exciting 8-week program for girls in Grades 7–12 where you’ll explore clean technology, tackle real-world climate challenges, and discover the many careers connected to creating a more sustainable future. Through hands-on experiments, research, design challenges, data analysis, creative projects, and conversations with professionals, you’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at how people use STEM skills to solve environmental problems. You might investigate renewable energy, explore sustainable materials, analyze environmental data, design a prototype, create a climate awareness campaign, or develop your own innovative solution. You’ll work on a project throughout the program and showcase your ideas at a special community event on November 28th at STEAM PEI, while discovering that clean technology careers can involve science, engineering, technology, research, design, communications, business, and so much more! Curious about how your interests could connect to the future of our planet? Come explore different possibilities, meet inspiring people, try new things, and discover where your STEM skills could take you. This program is offered in partnership with Girl Guides of Canada and supported by funding from the Rideau Hall Foundation through the Catapult program, CASC and the Interministerial Women Secretariat.
